Each Johnson shredder is capable of simultaneously shredding and blending two or more types of cheeses. Through the control panel, quick and easy adjustments can be made for custom styles of shred.
In addition to our standard offerings, we can provide and integrate Urschel shredders in various configurations to meet your specific application requirements. We can produce low, mid, and high volume production, all depending upon your specific application.
Low Volume Model 1800
The Model 1800 Shredder has a dual containment center and has become quite popular with retail grocery chains, pizzerias and food service institutions. It has enabled many low to medium volume cheese processors to keep ahead in the marketplace with its heavy-duty ruggedness and versatility.
The 1800 will shred two loaves of cheese, measuring no larger than 4 1/2"W x 4 1/2"H, in one shredding cycle. The length of the loaves can vary from 11" to a maximum of 14". This will include 5lb, 6lb and 7lb loaves of mozzarella pizza cheese. Cheddar, Colby, Monterey Jack and Co-Jack type cheeses must be cut into loaves from a 40lb block. Once the 40lb block is cut into eight 5lb loaves, two whole 5lb loaves can be placed into the shredder, as the 1800 can shred two loaves per cycle.
Mid-Volume Model 7000
The Model 7200 Shredder, using both sides, will shred four 5lb or 6lb loaves, four 10lb or two 20lb loaves per cycle. The 20lb loaves are turned on their narrow edge for shredding, therefore the measurement would be 7-1/2" top to bottom. Each of the 20lb containment centers comes complete with four crosscutting knives that can be spaced according to the desired shred length. This provides an effective means for shredding and blending both natural and imitation cheese simultaneously.
The Model 7240 Shredder is a combination of the 7200 and the 9600. It is capable of shredding 40lb blocks and 20 lb loaves at a production rate between the two models.
High-Volume Model 9600
The Model 9600 Shredder was developed for the large volume cheddar and mozzarella shredding operation. This system eliminates the need to go through a size reduction operation before shredding. The base unit was designed as a single sided manually operated unit with an optional left-handed side and auto-load feature for the ultra high volume or blending.
The 9600 has containment centers that will handle product up to 8" wide x 12" high by 25" long. The format can be blocks, loaves, or wheels. The automatic infeed “Auto-Load” system includes a special “Quick-Clean” conveyor that transports cheese into the automatic loading station.
